At work
Stuart started his career in financial services in 2013, after graduating from Newcastle University where he studied English Language & Linguistics.
He first joined Quilter, where he worked on the UK platform for five years, before moving to their financial planning business in 2018.
In 2021, then he moved to an independent firm in the West End, before joining Gem & Co as a Financial Planner in 2024.
Stuart is a firm believer of following the academic evidence when building portfolios, keeping investment costs low, and building robust financial plans based on sensible long- term assumptions.
He is passionate about protecting his clients from the noise of the media and helping families to build and preserve their financial resilience.
At home
Stuart grew up in the Lake District, and now lives in Balham with his girlfriend Selin, where they can regularly be found offering their informal dog-walking services on Tooting Commons – with an oat flat white in hand.
He is a huge fan of live music, regularly attending Glastonbury and All Points East festivals. His favourite band are The National, having seen them live fifteen times (to date).
On quieter weekends, he can usually be found planning his day around the F1 or catching up on his favourite financial planning podcasts.
