Remembering our brave soldiers

Category: News

This month marks the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One and 70 years since the D-Day landings.

On Remembrance Day we were fortunate enough to receive an email from one of our clients with a picture of his father Alfred Charles Low playing the Last Post at the cenotaph 1919/1920. His father was in the Royal West Kent’s regiment formed in Lewisham and served with the heavy rescue team in WW11, digging out the bombed buildings. His mum was on the ambulances, and saw quite a lot of mayhem, too.

Our client told us that his father “lost his right eye and was gassed twice, so I’m lucky to be here…. I always get emotional at this time. He joined up at 16, saying he was 19,  but then he was far from the only one”.

Many thanks to our client for sharing these touching memories and fantastic photographs.
