Target Two Point Zero – The Bank of England Interest Rate Challenge

Category: News

On a slightly different note and with a view to helping local schools, if you have a minute to spare please can you complete the attached survey. It will help Wimbledon College & Ursuline High School’s Sixth Form team who have made it through to the London Final of The Bank of England Interest Rate Challenge. This is a prestigious competition that gives teams of students aged 16 to 18 the chance to take on the role of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee. The teams will present their analysis and monetary policy decision to a panel of judges.

Note from the schools:

Our Bank of England Team will be presenting in the London Final on February 28th. They will mimic the Monetary Policy Team headed by the Governor of the Bank of England in deciding monetary policy; in particular decisions about what level to set Interest Rates at.

To aid this process – we require your help – and that of any enthusiastic friends who you can forward this on to.

By completing the survey, the team hope to generate data about Consumer Confidence – that we hope will correlate with the BoE’s own data and help deepen our analysis. We hope this will form the backbone of our presentation to propel us to the National Final. Only one team out of 8 get through. Your help will make the difference!

It will take less than a minute to complete – please take the time and forward if you can.

Thank You!
